Effect of some properties on the life of steel discharge blocks in converters

Investigations in service and with the regression-correlation analytical method showed that the resistance of experimental blocks, in steel discharge apertures of converters within the limits investigated, is determined mainly by structural characteristics including strength, resistance to abrasion and erosion, pore sizes, and gas permeability.
