New Species,New Subspecies and New Records of Butterflies(Lepidoptera:Satyridae)from China(V)

2001
The members of the family Satyridae are usually medium sized or small sized butterflies. The wings are usually dull brown. They usually are not attracted by collectors.. Wu Chenfu (1938) listed 224 species of Satyridae in China in "Catalogus Insectorum Sinensium". Li Chuanlong (1958) counted up 246 species in China. Chou Io et al (1994) recorded 212 species in "Monographia Rhopalocerorum Sinensium". Huang Renxin(2000) added 32 known species in "Butterfly of Xinjiang". The present paper deals with descriptions of 6 new species, 3 new subspecies, 1 new state, 1 new combination, 6 new record species of Satyridae from China and reports 14 known species, which were not included in "Monographia Rhopalocerorum Sinensium" and "The Butterflies of Xinjiang". All the type specimens are kept in the Entomological Museum, Northwest Sci Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry. 1.
