Research on Ulinastatin's Mechanism of Immunity in Anti-aging

2006
Objective: To study the anti-aging role of ulinastatin in mice. Methods: The senescent mice models were made and divided randomly into control group and treatment group, and were injected with normal sodium and ulinastatin respectively. After three weeks, the levels of SOD,MDA,IL-6 and IL-8 in the mice serum were detected by ELISA.The TI and SI were measured, and CD4~(+)T cells and CD8~(+)T cells were counted by flow cytometry. Results: In the treatment group, the level of SOD in the serum of mice was highly increased and the levels of MDA,IL-6 and IL-8 were decreased. The TI was increased, while the SI never changed. The amount of CD4~(+)T cells did not change significantly, while the amount of CD8~(+)T cells was increased and the ratio of CD4~(+)/CD8~(+)T cells were decreased. Conclusion: Ulinastatin might resist the lipid peroxidation which was caused by free radicals and its products of metabolism, might delay the process of atrophy of thymus gland, and increase the amount of T cells as well. The experiment showed that the ulinastatin might have the function of anti-aging.
