Intelligent selection of industrial transmission sphere for interferometer

This paper presents an intelligent selection method for industrial transmission sphere of interferometer. A typical application of interferometer is to inspect a spherical surface. The surface shapes and irregularities of samples can be measured with the coincidence between the center of concave or convex surface and the cat's eye of transmission sphere (TS). However, due to the type, size and radius of curvature (ROC) under test sphere is various and volume, the selecting process of TS becomes complicated and varied. This paper presents a method for a smart selection of interferometer transmission spheres. According to the type, size and ROC of the sample, it can automatically select the optical aperture and TSs which can meet the measurement requirement. At the same time, it is inexpensive. The selection results will come out by importing data through a spread sheet. Therefore, it can save time and provide convenience for optical testing. Finally, the program optimizes the quantity of the selected lens, which greatly reduced the cost.
