Thermoluminescence studies on YAlO3:Cu single crystal
2020
Cu doped YAlO3 single crystals have been grown by optical floating zone technique. TL sensitivity of doped crystal is found to be high and shows a simple glow curve with glow peak at 185°C. Dose response and fading behavior on post irradiated (1 Gy) samples exhibited a linear dose response and with less fading. The irradiated sample gives the broad emission peak at 314 nm characteristic of Cu and around 600 nm characteristic of host lattice. The kinetic parameters such as activation energy, frequency factor and order of kinetics were determined by two different methods like peak shape method and variable heating rate method. Activation energy and frequency factor were calculated to be around 1.15eV and 1012s−1 respectively. The symmetry factor (μ) calculated from Chen’s peak shape method is around 0.44 and hence the order of kinetics could be inferred as 1.2.
