Screening experiment of mung bean varieties for intercropping with sugarcane and citrus.

2013
【Objective】Mung bean varieties(lines) suitable for intercropping with sugarcane and citrus were screened in order to provide references for intercropping production. 【Method】Screening experiments were conducted using eleven mung bean varieties(lines) intercropped with sugarcane and five intercropped with citrus to investigate the phenological phase, agronomic traits and yield traits. 【Result】AU tested mung bean varieties(lines) were early mature, dwarf varieties with big pods. Jing L011 was Vigna radiata(Linn.) Wilczek, while all the other cultivars were Ming mung bean. Among them, Zhonglu5, the local variety of Daxin(CK) and Zhonglu1 were the ideal varieties intercropping with sugarcane. These three varieties presented more pods per plant, large grain, high grain yield and elite commodity appearance. Two of the five mung bean varieties(lines) intercropping with citrus, Zhonglu1 and F8, were found early-maturing, suitable height, more branches and pods per plant, large grain and high grain yield. 【Conclusion】Zhonglu5, CK and Zhonglu1 were suitable varieties(lines) for intercropping with sugarcane. Zhonglu1 and F8were proper varieties(lines) for intercropping with citrus.
