Synthesis and antioxidative activity of thio esters derived from ω-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)alkanethiols

ω-(3,5-Di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)alkanethiols were converted into thio esters by reactions with aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acid chlorides. The antioxidative activity of these compounds, evaluated with respect to thermal autooxidation of lard, was studied in relation to their structure.
