The invention discloses a method for detecting the content of lorcaserin hydrochloride through a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. The method comprises the following steps: a, preparing a mixed blank solution; b, preparing a reference solution; c, preparing a test solution; d, with Agilent 1220 and C18 chromatographic column, 0.1 percent of trifluoroacetic acid aqueous solution and 0.1 percent of trifluoroacetic acid acetonitrile as a mobile phase, performing binary gradient elute at a flow velocity of 1.0ml/min, detecting under the condition of the column temperature of 35 DEG C at the wavelength of 226nm, and calculating the content of lorcaserin hydrochloride in the test solution through an external standard method according to the peak areas of the reference substance and test solution. The method is rapid, accurate and high in reproducibility.
