Doses to the CERN 450-GeV super proton synchrotron and an estimate of radiation damage

1990
Abstract The doses at typical positions of the CERN 450-GeV Super Proton Synchrotron are presented, for the first ten years of operation. An estimate is made of the present status of radiation damage, by relating the dose to the number of accelerated protons. Doses and radiation damage for the future can be estimated, both for the SPS and for new accelerators.
