A Novel Synthesis of Anticoccidial Drug Toltrazuril

Toltrazuril was synthesized from 4-(2-methyl-4-nitrophenoxy)phenyl trifluoromethyl sulfane via catalytic hydrogenation,condensation and cyclization in overall yield of 89.9%.
