Bis(4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarboxylate) Bipyridine Cobalt(II)

The geometry around Co center in bis(4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarboxylate) bipyridine cobalt(Ⅱ) (1), prepared by the hydrothermal treatment of ethyl 4-hydroxy-3-quinolinecarhoxylate and CoC12 in the presence of pyridine, displays a slightly distorted octahedron in which two apical positions are occupied by py and equatorial plane is composed of four 0 atoms from two hydroxy and carboxylate groups.
