Source regions of very low speed solar winds

2008
Very low speed solar winds less than 300km/sec were observed at distances of 0.2–0.4AU with interplanetary scintillation methods. They were not always located near the heliospheric current sheet inferred from the potential field model, but were located in other regions as well. However, all of them had some active regions at their foot points. These results suggest that very low speed winds which are coming from active regions do not disappear up to at least 0.2–0.4 AU.
