Radioecological survey in a North-Eastern Italian region (Chernobyl accident). Indagini radioecologiche nella regione Friuli-Venezia Giulia: primi risultati dell'indagine nell'ambiente agricolo della pianura padana

This paper presents the first results of a radioecological survey of the agricultural environment in the North-Eastern region of Italy (Friuli- Venezia Giulia) following the Chernobyl accident. An analysis is made of the selection criteria for 35 sampling stations, selected on the basis of a soils study. Reported are the following: the Cs-137 deposition map of the investigated area; the Cs-137 wash-out; the influence of the agricultural practices on the dispersion of radionuclides in soils; the Cs-137 soil-maize transfer factors.
