Color-plus-clear coating utilizing carbamate functional polymer in clearcoat

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent environmental corrosion resistant color-plug clear coating and method for coating. SOLUTION: A method of producing an article with a color-plus clear coating comprises the steps of applying a colored coating composition to a substrate and coating a clear coating composition over the colored coating composition, which is used substantially in a liquid state achieved by using substantially solid powders or organic solvent. The clear coating composition is a curable coating composition comprising (a) the first component comprising a polymer backbone having added with carbamate functional group having at least one of formula -O-C(O)-NHR 2 (where R 2 expresses alkyl or cycloalkyl) and (b) the second component comprising a compound having a plurality of functional groups that are reactive with the carbamate group.
