Integrity promised: leveraging blockchain technology for medical image sharing

Abstract Medical images are important for any healthcare organization. Several cloud solutions have been suggested for sharing medical images between organizations, but a third-party centralized cloud service cannot be trusted completely. On the other hand, blockchain is a technology that is decentralized and completely trustworthy. It enables a distributed system with no centralized authority. This technology allows us to share images in a more secure manner, thereby achieving integrity. The results are far better when we combine the merits of both cloud storage and blockchain. In this chapter, a new methodology is proposed that is a combination of both cloud storage and blockchain.
