Development of a Disaster Data Collection Platform Based on C#.NET and Excel

Disaster data collection and management is fundamental to disaster risk analysis.This paper discusses the method of developing a disaster data collection system based on C#.net and Excel technique,and describes the procedures of achieving the functions of the system components.The disaster data is added to,deleted from,modified in,and queried from the Excel table through the construction of the data collection system with the given examples of historical disaster damage data collection of Jiangsu Province,Zhejiang Province and Shanghai City as a case study.The resulting data platform may reduce the intensity of data entry,shorten the time span of data entering and improve the efficiency of data collection.It can also act as a source of reference for other data collection system.
