Product distribution and kinetic predictions of Greek lignite pyrolysis

1990
Abstract This paper aims to determine the distribution of all species produced from Greek lignite under fast pyrolysis and to derive an appropriate kinetic model. A fluidized bed reactor system was used with sand as the heat carrier. For the product distribution determination, experiments were carried out over a temperature range of 500–850 °C. The yield distribution was determined for the following main volatile products: CO, CO 2 , CH 4 , H 2 , C 2 H 4 and HC (all other hydrocarbons). The kinetic model of Anthony and Howard is used, as a basis, to predict the experimental evolution curves.
