Design of Lens Horn Antenna for 5G Application

Horn antenna transmits spherical wave and cannot achieve a uniform phase wavefront. This paper proposes a lens horn antenna to get planar wavefront without changing the structure of horn antenna. The measured results of the lens horn antenna are good agreement with the simulated results. The results of VSWR are less than 1.5, the results of gain are 33dB Typ. and the cross polarization isolation are less than -33dB. The beam width is stable in operating frequency of 26.5-40GHz. The lens horn antenna has been used in the field of 5G measurement.
