File sharing method and device

The embodiments of the invention disclose a file sharing method and device. The file sharing method comprises: obtaining a file uploaded by a main terminal and to be shared, wherein the file comprises N pages, and N is a positive integer; transcoding the file into an image file, wherein the image file comprises N images, and N is a positive integer; and synchronously sharing the image files. The embodiments of the invention provide a technical scheme facilitating a reduction in a file download time in a synchronization procedure.
