Current management of colonic polyps is largely via endoscopic removal. However, surgical management is warranted for large polyps where attempted endoscopic removal poses a high risk of perforation.1 Historically this has been with bowel resection but recently trans-anal techniques, including trans-anal endoscopic microsurgery and trans-anal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS), have been gaining popularity.
