Design of an ka-band mode converter

In this paper, a high efficiency circular polarization converter is presented. The TE 10 rectangular waveguide mode is converted to the circular polarization TE 11 circular waveguide mode, the pill-box window of the vacuum envelope is used. Employing the three-dimensional simulation code, the mode converter is designed and optimized. The results show that the VSWR is 1.17 in the center frequency of 35GHz.
