Emulsified Acid Enhances Well Production in High-Temperature Carbonate Formations

Because of their retarded nature, emulsified acids are used to stimulate carbonate formations. Traditionally, their are used as acid fracturing fluids, but recently they also have been used in matrix acidizing treatments. A new high-temperature emulsified-acid system is stable at temperatures from 250 to 350°F.
