Polyimide stripping device for producing detection windows on fused-silica tubing used in capillary electrophoresis

This report describes a simple device of removing polyimide from a section of fused-silica capillary without subjecting it to extreme heat. The approach affords the researcher the ability to prepare extended lengths of chemically derivatized or gel-filled capillaries, from which sections of the desired dimension can be cut and fabricated into working lengths for separations
