MR imaging of discitis

Discitis involving disk, end plate and adjacent vertebrae which is caused by multiple infecting organisms. MR findings of the disease were reviewed in the article that including intranuclear cleft sign, irregularity of fibrous annulus, end plate and adjacent vertebrae destruction, disc space narrowing, perivertebral and/or epidural space abscess or phlegmon formation, secondary spinal cord and caudal equina abnormal and so on. It is helpful in differentiation the perivertebral and/or epidural space abscess or phlegmon after gadopentetate. Several related diseases are also introduced in this article.
