A case of bilateral cochlear implantation (MED‐EL combi 40+)

Speech was always presented from the front and noise either from the front, the right or the left. In each noise condition SRTs were measured for monaural and binaural implant use. Noise level was fixed at 60 dB SPL with adaptive speech level. These tests were administered 6 months postoperatively in sound field. Based on the SRTs, the hearing shadow effect (HS), the squelch effect (SQ) and the bilateral summation effect (SU) were investigated.
