Internacionalização da Educação Superior: olhares do Sul: Internationalization of Higher Education: perspective from the South

The topic of internationalization of Higher Education (HE) has consolidated itself as a research scope in the last two decades, based mainly on movements of globalization of capital. The so-called global society brought the theme of internationalization to the HE agenda. Inserted in this agenda, this article's main objective, analysis conceptions and actions of the internationalization of HE in Latin American universities (UNC e UNILA) based on the decolonial perspective. Qualitative research, through documentary analysis and interviews, was the basis of the analysis carried out. Three categories emerged in the analysis: interculturality, democratic citizenship and solidary integration. The main results point towards the internationalization of the South for HE. It is possible to identify concrete policies and actions that consider local specificities. Also, it is possible to affirm that there is a potential in the researched policies and actions that carry conceptions in which the Other is perceived as Distinct, with integrationist, horizontal and solidary strategies.
