Effect of hormones and partial hepatectomy on incorporation of labeled precursor in nuclear proteins of mouse liver

Partial hepatectomy altered the nuclear protein synthesis, most distinct for H1 histones, within 1,5-3 hrs after the operation. Laparotomy, administration of hormones and dibutyryl-cAMP did not affect the cell nuclear apparatus throughout similar to partial hepatectomy. The cell response to partial hepatectomy appears to develop involving a number of factors between which unspecific stress reactions and hormones carry out a definite role.
