Derivatives of 8-oxyquinoline, containing the substituent in o-position to atom of nitrogen, form with ions Ni2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ dyed chelating complexes of structure MR2 and MR3, stronger, than complexes of 8-oxyquinoline. Reagent N-okcid of 8-oxyquinoline is recommended for selective determination of ions Fe2+ with a limit of detection of 10 mkg/l.
