Synthesis and characterization of polyethylene oxide macro monomer

The polyethylene oxide macro monomer was obtained by ring-opening of epoxy group of tertiary carboxylic ester in the presence of triethylamine as catalyst.The inventory rating influents the conversion rate of the monomer.The effects of various reaction conditions,such as amount of catalyst,reaction temperature and time on the yield of PEO macro monomer were investigated.The structure of PEO macro monomer was characterized by means of IR,1H-NMR.It shows that the conversion of the E10P can reach 76.83% when the substances react in 90 ℃ for 10 h and the weight of the catalyst is 5% of the total weight of monomers.
