Novel DCT-Based Blind Stereo Image Watermarking Algorithm

2012
This paper presents a novel stereo image watermarking algorithm for three-dimensional video systems based on discrete cosine transform. The concepts of the intra-relationship and inter-relationships are employed to embed watermarks. More specifically the intra-relationship is designed on comparison between direct current (DC) coefficients of neighborhood blocks in the same image. The intra-relationship and DCs of left and right images are employed for inter-relationships between the blocks with the same positions in left and right images. Moreover, a parity quantization method will be employed for watermark embedding as well when inter-relationships cannot work. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can embed a watermark into images invisibly and the watermark can be detected blindly. The proposed algorithm is very robust to attacks, such as JPEG compression, adding noise, filtering, and cropping.
