The effects of partially filled polyethylene tube intraosseous implants in rats.
1978
Abstract Polyethylene tubes obturated flush at one end and 1 mm. short at the opposite end with gutta percha and Grossman's cement as the cementing media were implanted in rat tibias. The gutta-percha, the set Grossman's cement, and the polyethylene implant were well tolerated by the rat intraosseous tissues. There was no significant inflammatory response at either the flush end or the short end of the polyethylene implant.
