Forecast failure based on PID in embedded real-time system

2012
Expect a future failure is a potential approach to improve real time system dependability in order to avoid system breakdown or apply recovery mechanisms to limit damage, Regular and extension of Hidden Markov models (HMMs) have been successfully used in failure prediction. This paper also encourages their use and justifies why PHMMs should be used to forecast failures in embedded real time system. Since PID controller which were widely used in control engineering intends to minimize the error by adjusting the process control inputs. We propose to exploit it to identify and recognize a set of errors that lead to failures. Keywords: Embedded real-time system, Forecasting Failure, Partly Hidden Markov Model, PID Controllers;
