SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CuInS2 (CIS-TYPE) PRODUCED BY THE METHOD SOLVOTHERMAL

The CuInS 2 (CIS) spherical particles were synthesized by the solvothermal method. The CuInS 2 have high micro crystalline domains of the CIS type phase at high temperatures (180°C) and long times (6h). In the solvothermal process, the crystallinity increases vs. a decrease of the spherical shape, resulting in a cluster of smaller crystalline particles. The UV-visible spectrophotometry and electric characterization show semiconductors properties in these materials with band gap in the order of 1.4 eV.
