The contents of the designed curriculum consisted of 3 main units: 1) nurses’ decision making; emergency care; and mental health care. This curriculum benchmark was evaluated by 9 experts and 30 nurses in the Tsunami area. 3. Performing a tryout of the supplementary curriculum A try out of this curriculum was done among 40 nurse students who were in the fourth year of the nursing course. It was found that the knowledge care and the attitude toward nurse students and their nursing skill derived from either pre-test or post-test were at good levels. However, the levels of achievement and attitude obtained from the post-test were significantly higher than those obtained form the pre-test (p-value<0.01). 4. Improving the supplementary curriculum In order to make it more interesting, this curriculum was improved by changing activities, time, and media for learning and teaching.
