Reason analysis of water damage and waterproof techniques on city bridge deck pavement

Serious water damage such as loose,net-shaped cracks and hollow hole has appeared on city continuous beam bridge deck pavement in Jiangsu.Its influencing factors include improper selection of asphalt mixture types on deck pavement,unsuitable waterproof layer materials,higher position of drainage hole,inadequate compaction of asphalt concrete surface layer,heterogeneous construction of asphalt mixture,and improper bridge structure design.Comprehensive waterproof techniques are adopted such as using S-grading as deck pavement surface layer,setting SBS modified asphalt crushed rock waterproof layer,setting porous concrete drainage groove on bridge deck by the sidewalk,and changing position of the drainage hole.
