An analysis of a mixed finite element method for a Darcy–Forchheimer model ☆

Abstract In this paper, we discuss the convergence of a mixed finite element method applied to a Darcy–Forchheimer steady flow in a bounded region. We use conforming finite elements for both the velocities and the pressure. We obtain error estimates of the scheme. We also propose two other mixed finite element spaces and compare the sizes of the different discrete problems.
