Complexation of an indole-based α-aminoimine ligand to Pd(II)

Abstract The indole-based α-aminoimine ligand 6-Me-4- i Pr-6-{(2,6- i Pr 2 -C 6 H 3 )N CMe}-6,11-dihydro-5 H -indolo[3,2- c ]quinoline ( 6 ) was synthesized by condensation of (2,6- i Pr 2 -C 6 H 3 )N C(Me)C( O)Me ( 5 ) and 2-(indol-2-yl)-6- i Pr-C 6 H 3 NH 2 ( 4 ). Ligand 6 coordinates in a κ 2 -C N , N H fashion in the square planar complex ( 6 )PdCl 2 .
