Electrically conductive pipette tip having an elongated tubular body having a lower opening for the passage of fluid and at the upper end an upper opening for the passage of air and a passage between the lower opening and the upper opening at the lower end, said body has at least one extending from the lower opening to the upper opening, electrically conductive area and at least one light-transmissive portion of plastics material which extends from the passageway to the outside of the body.
