Different responses of load models when facing short-circuits in a distribution system with intermittent distributed generation.

2019
The electric distribution systems topology are being increasingly altered by the inclusion of elements that may characterize a bidirectional power flow, which adds complexity to their operation. In this scenario, analyses of short-circuits in distribution systems with intermittent distributed generation should be given attention, due to the load model and weather conditions that can be better represented computationally. This paper proposes an analysis on the impact of considering different static load models and weather scenarios for the analysis of short-circuits applied to a radial distribution system with photovoltaic generation and battery energy storage system. Various sensitivity tests are performed to evaluate the actual importance of considering certain load models and scenarios in short-circuit analyses, allowing inference about model and most favorable conditions.
