A dynamic monitoring and fault diagnosis device for a head sheave of a friction hoist comprises the head sheave, a steel wire rope, a sensor and a main support platform rack, wherein the main support platform rack is a main support part of the utility model, adopts an steel beam framed structure on a whole, and is basically identical to the main support platform rack in the prior art. A vertical supporting frame is arranged on the main support platform rack; the head sheave supported by a head sheave shaft is arranged at the upper end of the vertical supporting frame; the steel wire rope is wound around the head sheave; the sensor is arranged on the upper surface of the main support platform rack and is approximately 50 mm from the lower edge of the head sheave; and the sensor detects and calculates in time on the basis of the variation range of all parameters in normal running state of the head sheave and transmits the detected information to a monitoring room through a transmission system. The device has the advantages that the integral structure is simple, the installation, operation and use are convenient, the stability is good, the reliability is high, the dynamic monitoring and the in-time failure diagnosis can be carried out on the head sheave; and the safety running of the friction hoist is ensured.
