Progress of chemical modification technologies for vegetable oil used as lubricant base oil

Progress of chemical modification technologies for vegetable oil used as lubricant base oil was reviewed.According to the characteristics of vegetable oil,the advantages and disadvantages of it used as lubricant base oil were analyzed.The chemical modification technologies progresses of vegetable oil were introduced emphatically including hydrogenation,epoxidation,branching,interesterification ect.The effects and insufficiencies of these modification technologies were compared to provide an reference for developing environmental friendly lubricant base oil.
