Momothioglycerolates and Glycerolates of Lanthanide Ions
1980
Abstract Monothioglycerol was Found to be a bifunctional and tridentate ligand in its reactions with Ln(OPr i)3 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm), giving Ln(C3H6O2S) (C3H6O25) and Ln2 (C3H6O2S) 3. Glycerol, on the other hand, appears to be a monofunctional and tridentate ligand in its reactions uith Ln(OPri)3 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd). Tho lanthnnide glycerolntes Ln(C3H7O3) (OR)2, Ln(C3H7O3)2(OR) and Ln(C3H7O3)2, (OR).C3H8O3 (OR = OPri or DBut) are insoluble products and are presumably polymeric. The complexes have been chnractcrized by elemcntal analysis and infrarcd spectroscopy.
