Incremental redundancy relays for wireless communication
2008
Techniques are described for relaying the transmissions in a wireless communication network. In one design, the relay may receive at least one assignment for the packet, wherein the at least one assignment can be intercepted by either or the repeater can be transmitted to the RS. The relay may receive at least one transmission of the packet to be transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver. The repeater is said to process the at least one transmission in order to decode the packet, it is possible to correctly decode the packet after the generated at least one additional transmission of the packet. The repeater may transmit the at least one additional transmission of the packet to the receiver. The transfer (s) and the additional transmission (s) may be a HARQ transmission having different redundancy information for the packet. The transmitter may send a transmission until an acknowledgment (ACK) is received from the receiver or the repeater. The repeater may transmit the additional transmission until the ACK is received from the receiver.
