An Ontology Based Authentication Framework for Healthcare Monitoring

2020
Authentication is one of the challenges designing healthcare applications for Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine (PPPM (PPPM: Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine.)). For user with limited interaction abilities and less memorization capabilities, it is no more feasible to involve usual knowledge-based or possession-based authentication methods. Remembering a password and entering it using a usual keyboard could be an impossible action not just a highly difficult task for a blind person or an old person with Alzahaimer. This paper proposes a new adaptable identification based authentication framework depending on the health and the mental situation of the user. The main idea consists in creating an ontology define and determinate the authentication methods from the different abilities and capabilities of the patient. The proposed PPPM system should be able to present the best suitable identification technique per patient.
