Use of a laminate, which at least one layer of a compressible, graphitic material and at least one further layer of a compressible, graphitic material or a layer of a ceramic material, wherein a permanent connection between the materials is present and the materials by an interfacial active adhesion-promoting substance are connected from the group of organosilicon compounds, metal soaps and perfluorinated compounds, as components in fuel cells or redox flow batteries.
