A Preliminary Study on the Phytotoxicity of 38 Plant Species

2004
The phytotoxicity of 38 plant species belonging to 21 families, 34 genus were determined by the seeds germination of Sorghum vulgare , Cucumis sativus, Triticum aestivum and Brassica campestris. The results showed that inhibitory rates of 32 plant species were more than 70% at least to one species of crop seeds. The inhibitory rates of Rheum palmatum, Malva neglecta, M. verticillata and Ricinus communis against young roots of the 4 species of crop seeds were more than 70%. The inhibitory rates of Phytolacca acinosa not only against young roots, but also against young buds of the 4 species of crop seeds were more than 80%.
