Technological Problems of Superconducting Magnetic Bearing and Construction of Flywheel Power Storage System

1994
Upgrading the practical performance of a flywheel power storage system involves research efforts focusing on two major tasks in the area of elemental technologies - the improvement of the rotary bearing characteristics and the achievement of high energy density. It is expected that technical breakthroughs will be achieved by a superconducting magnetic bearing in the former task and by a graphite epoxy composite disk with an appropriate stress design in the latter.
