Phase diagram for Condon domains in beryllium

Abstract Recent μSR data on the Condon domain state in a beryllium single crystal at external fields H ∥[0001] showed serious disagreement with the predictions for phase boundaries based on standard Lifshitz–Kosevich (LK) theory. In search of a realistic phase diagram, the susceptibility χ a ( B , T ) is calculated in the frame of a model beyond the ‘quadratic’ LK formula and consistent with available information on the Fermi surface.
