The Effect of Halothane Gas on the Hatched Chicken--On the Recovery of Liver Damage by Shosaikoto

1985
Previously, the authors studied on the influence of an anesthetic agent, halothane gas, to the hatched chicken. It was cleared that halothane gas caused to the liver damage of the chicken and disturbed the liver LDH patterns, serum LDH patterns and ultramicrostructure of the liver cell electron microscopically. The authors farthermore clarified Shosaikoto as an oriental medical agent aided effectively to the recovery of the damaged liver of chicken.1"4^ Clinically, the determinations of serum GOT, GPT and γ-GTP were used for the diagnosis of liver disease. The authors adopted this method to the diagnosis of chicken liver damage and investigated on the process of liver damage by halothane gas treatment, and the recovery process of the damaged liver owing to Shosaikoto administration to the gas treated chicken scanning electron microscopically. These results were reported in this paper.
