Electron paramagnetic resonance studies in KYb(WO4)2
2007
Abstract Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies of KYb(WO 4 ) 2 single-crystal have been carried out by means of X-band spectrometer. The EPR spectrum confirms the existence of one Yb center only. For the stoichiometric ytterbium crystal the main z -axis of the g-tensor is located on the (0 1 0) plane at the angle of 42±1° to the crystallographic a axis in the clockwise direction, while the y - and b -axes are parallel. The EPR spectrum is characterized by a strong anisotropy of the g -factor ( g z =6.62±0.05, g x =1.039±0.012, g y =0.997±0.012).
